The Lincoln Electric Company (Cleveland, OH) has announced that it has acquired all intellectual property related to laser welding and marking systems produced by Process Equipment Company (PECo; Tipp City, OH).
Going forward, the company’s Wayne Trail subsidiary, which produces a full line of laser welding, cutting, ablation, cladding, and marking solutions, will assume responsibility for servicing and supporting the installed base of PECo laser welding and marking systems. John A. Campbell, the general manager of Wayne Trail, commented, “We are fully prepared to meet the needs of the automotive powertrain laser welding and processing industry, both domestically and internationally. Wayne Trail is uniquely positioned to help customers adopt new laser process technologies to meet changing industry demands and requirements.”
