Grinding Technology LLC (Houston, TX), a Komet Service® Partner, has announced their ISO 9001 certification, which serves as an extra level of quality assurance to the customers who trust them for their solid carbide tool refurbishment and simple solid carbide tool manufacturing needs. The shop proved themselves to be a leader in tool grinding in the South Central U.S. when they joined the Komet Service network in the autumn of 2014 and they are raising the bar once again with this certification.

“While we have always valued precision and quality and felt that our work spoke for itself, joining the network really brought us to the next level. However, ISO certification is the ultimate testament to our dedication to quality, and it sends a strong message to our customers and soon-to-be customers, alike,” says Adolfo Perez, the president and chief executive officer of Grinding Technology. “We are the best solid carbide tool regrind shop in the South Central market, and we’re open and ready to impress.”

Tom Whennen, the director of channels at Komet of America, Inc. (Schaumburg, IL) and the manager of Komet Service in North America, is also excited about this development, saying, “While our recent growth across the continent has been stellar, we haven’t forgotten one of our core values: quality. Grinding Technology has worked very hard to earn this recognition, and they will continue to work hard to go above and beyond their customers’ expectations. They are the latest in an ongoing string of Partners who have been or will soon be ISO certified. With a quality offering like ours, it’s an exciting time to be involved with the solid carbide tooling industry.”

This network of locally owned and operated tool refurbishment facilities is the best choice for customers who use carbide cutting tools. The network of Partners, which extends from Houston to Minneapolis and Boston (in addition to Europe), prides itself on the quality of the special carbide tools they manufacture as well as the carbide tools they refurbish. In addition to being licensed by Komet to refurbish Komet brand carbide tools, all of the Partners are held to exacting quality standards and have computerized inspection equipment on-site. ISO certification is the next step in their march towards unparalleled quality.

Customers who use solid carbide cutting tools are encouraged to try the services offered by Grinding Technology and Komet Service. They are available to help you obtain the maximal tool life from your tooling, while providing localized, convenient, and quick service. Grinding Technology works with customers of all industries, including the local petroleum drilling industry.
