Aquasol Corporation (North Tonawanda, NY), an innovative welding supply manufacturer, is pleased to introduce SteelSpace® Socket Weld Spacer Rings that are composed of Certified 316L stainless steel material. They provide the pre-measured 1/16 in minimum gap for socket welding contractions required by ANSI 31.1, Section III ASME, and U.S. Naval and Military Codes.
SteelSpace is designed with spring action that allows the spacer to stay in place even when the socket is sideways or upside-down. Because the spacer is a solid ring with a hollow center, viewing is not compromised during socket welding. SteelSpace is available in a variety of sizes ranging from ½ in to 2 in diameter.
Unlike any other company, Aquasol also offers SoluGap®, a water soluble spacer ring. Made of Aquasol Water Soluble Board, it is compatible with any metal and dissolves completely and rapidly in most liquids. ″We provide the total solution for our clients offering both a certified 316L stainless steel and water soluble socket weld spacer ring. In certain circumstances, one is superior to the other, and other times it is a matter of preference. Customers can come to us for one, the other or both, ″ said company president Mike Hacikyan.
