TÜV Rheinland Industrial Solutions (TRIS; Boxborough, MA), a full-service inspection, testing and certification company, has appointed Ken Taylor as the senior regional sales representative for Birmingham, AL, and Monty McDonough as the operations manager for the Gulf Coast region. The appointments are representative of growth as the company transitions to offer the most comprehensive range of advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) services to the North American market.

In his new role, Ken Taylor is responsible for serving manufacturers and projects in the Southeastern U.S. with a focus on chemical, oil and gas companies. Prior to joining TRIS, Taylor served as a technical sales representative for Olympus Scientific Solutions (Waltham, MA) for over eight years, covering Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, southwest Kentucky, eastern Arkansas, and northwestern Florida.

He specialized in remote visual inspection equipment and portable NDT and high-speed video products and worked with clients in a range of industries, including automotive, aviation, oil and gas, military and power generation. Taylor holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He resides in Birmingham.

Monty McDonough is responsible for all operations in the Houston, TX, office, including development and implementation of processes, procedures, and policies as well as performance tracking and evaluation. He brings over 12 years of experience in transport pipeline integrity, including inspection and management of transport pipelines and business development.

Most recently, McDonough served as business development manager for pipeline integrity services with Applus RTD USA in Houston and as pipeline integrity technologist at Chevron, also in Houston, where he was responsible for the inspection and repairs of approximately 700 miles of pipeline. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management from University of Houston. McDonough resides in Houston.

“We are excited for Monty and Ken to join the TRIS team because they have essential skills, different viewpoints of the NDT industry, understanding of industrial inspection services and relationships with manufacturers and clients,” said Robert Burns, the chief operating officer for TRIS. “Monty’s deep knowledge of the oil and gas industry’s needs, coupled with Ken’s extensive sales network, will be invaluable as we continue both enhancing and expanding our services.”

TRIS is a comprehensive resource for a variety of advanced NDT services. It provides both field and laboratory inspection services, including all NDT methods, QC/QA functions, proof loading, calibrations, tensile testing, compression, shear testing and slow bend testing.
