nexAir (Memphis, TN), one of the largest distributors of atmospheric gases and welding supplies in the United States, announced that it has agreed to acquire the assets, branches and operations of M&A Welding Supply Co. (Cartersville, GA), a distributor for welding and safety supplies with locations in Calhoun, Cartersville, Douglasville and Jasper, GA. The transaction closed at the end of March and nexAir assumed operations of all these locations. The organization’s 15 employees will join nexAir’s Georgia operations.

“We are eager to expand our territory into northwest Georgia and build upon the great customer service they have been providing their customers for the last 50 years,” said Kevin McEniry, the chief executive officer at nexAir. “We are looking forward to working with our new team members to enhance our product and service offerings for all of our customers in this area.”

The acquisition doubles nexAir’s Georgia footprint and furthers its reach into the northwestern portion of the state, granting new customers access to the company’s seasoned industry expertise. In addition to its knowledge of industrial and specialty gases and welding supplies, nexAir brings expertise in automation trends and the latest welding procedures.

“We are excited to continue servicing the welding industry in northwest Georgia as part of the nexAir team,” said Larry Pogue, the president of M&A Welding Supply. “The combined expertise and service offerings of our two companies will help ensure our customers continue to receive the products, equipment and supplies they need to operate efficiently.”

“Welding is a fast-growing and strategic segment of our portfolio and we’re eager to add these four locations to our service area,” said McEniry. “As an important segment of our customers’ business strategies, we are happy to bring some of the most advanced welding equipment and supplies in the country to both current and new customers.”

nexAir will spend the coming month converting the M&A Welding Supply facilities to nexAir branches and implementing nexAir’s culture of safety and efficiency across the area.
