Blaine Lowry joined the instructor staff at Hobart Institute of Welding Technology (HIWT; Troy, OH) in December as a skill instructor. He is also an HIWT graduate that attended HIWT in 2012 and worked for the Army Corp of Engineers after he graduated. “I love to teach. I was a welder in the U.S. Marines for five years and absolutely loved it. Teaching is my way of giving back.” Lowry and his wife live in Englewood. In his spare time he enjoys watching movies, playing video games and spending time with his family.

Josh Moniaci has joined the team as a skill instructor. He attended HIWT in 2005 right after he graduated high school. He worked for the O’Gara Group welding armored vehicles for almost ten years. “Being an instructor here is truly my dream job. I have wanted to work here since I graduated ten years ago. I knew it was important to get out and work in the industry, so I could have a solid foundation to bring back to the students I’m instructing now.”
He and his wife live in Kettering, OH. He also enjoys fishing, chasing his 10-month-old around, and spending time with family.

Joel Baden has also joined the team as a skill instructor. He graduated from HIWT in 2010 with perfect attendance. He worked for Huntington Ingalls (Newport News, VA) for almost five years. “I have always wanted to work here. I love to help others and I’m looking to bring my
real world welding experience to the students.” Baden resides in Troy and also enjoys anything outdoors, hunting and spending time with family.

Jeremy Bartley has also joined the team as a skill instructor. He attended HIWT in 2009 and worked for Precision Certified Welding for six years. “I’m really excited to have an opportunity to teach the upcoming generation how to weld.” He and his wife live in Brookville, OH. He also enjoys fishing, hunting, and chasing his 3-year-old boy around.

“We are very pleased to have added these four new instructors to our staff in the last six months,” said Ron Scott the vice president and general manager of HIWT. “Our new hires all come with very diverse backgrounds, which is great for our current students. They can apply real industry knowledge to what they are teaching in the classes. All of our new hires are also HIWT graduates, so they are all very familiar with our programs and the level of training our instructors give.”
