Former Mahr Employee Honored by ASME
Alexander N. Tabenkin is presented with the 2014 Dedicated Service Award.

Alexander N. Tabenkin of Mahr Federal Inc. (Providence, RI) was presented with the ASME 2014 Dedicated Service Award for Standardization and Testing during the ASME B46 meeting held on October 24, 2014, at NIST headquarters in Gaithersburg, MD. Tabenkin was recognized for his outstanding service to the society, based on his contributions and dedication spanning over 23 years in the field of surface metrology.
According to ASME, “The Dedicated Service Award was established in 1983 to honor unusual dedicated voluntary service to the Society marked by outstanding performance, demonstrated effective leadership, prolonged and committed service, devotion, enthusiasm and faithfulness.”
“Alex is one of the nation’s foremost experts on surface finish and geometry gaging and the development of surface finish and geometry standards,” said Tony Picone, the president of Mahr Federal. “He has also been an extremely valuable member of the Mahr Federal team and we are all gratified to see Alex recognized for his expertise and his dedication over these many years.”
