Flow International Corporation (Kent, WA), a leading developer and manufacturer of industrial waterjet machines for cutting applications, has announced the appointment of David Crewe as the senior vice president of engineering, reporting to Waterjet Holdings Inc. (New York, NY) president and chief executive officer, David Savage.

“I am excited to join such a strong team as we push forward in developing next generation waterjet products and technologies” says Crewe. He will be responsible for technology development and new product development, and will manage the engineering research and development teams globally. As a key member of the Waterjet Holdings leadership team, Crewe will participate in common strategy development and execution.

Crewe joins the company from VEECO Instruments, where he led company-wide engineering and product development teams across all business unit product lines. During his tenure, he successfully developed innovative products while also developing cross functional processes and business tools in product development, manufacturing, sales, service, and marketing.

Prior to that Crewe held engineering leadership positions at KLA-Tencor and Applied Materials. He holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Illinois and a B.A. degree in Physics and minor in Mathematics from Occidental College.
