The ExOne Company (North Huntingdon, PA), a global provider of 3D printing machines and printed products for industrial applications, announced that its production service centers (PSCs) in North Huntingdon, PA, and Troy, MI, have been certified to ISO 9001:2008 as Industrial Additive Manufacturers by DAS Certification.

With the latest two facility certifications, all five of the company’s PSCs in North America now have ISO certification, joining those in Auburn, WA, Houston, TX, and Las Vegas, NV. ISO 9001:2008 certification designates that the North Huntingdon and Troy facilities’ quality management systems conform to the specific requirements of the ISO (International Organization for Standardization).

The ISO 9001:2008 standard is based on eight quality management principles, including a strong customer focus, commitment of top management, a process approach and continuous improvement. Receiving ISO 9001:2008 certification helps ensure that customers receive consistently high quality products and services.

To achieve the certification, the company had to demonstrate its consistent ability to provide products that meet customer and applicable statutory/regulatory requirements, while enhancing customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system. This includes processes for continuous improvement and the assurance of conformity to customer and statutory/regulatory requirements.

“Receiving ISO certification demonstrates that our binder jetting 3D printing technology consistently meets our customers’ expectations and product quality standards for industrial usage,” said Tim Pierce, the U.S. chief operating officer of ExOne. “By earning this certification at all of our North American facilities, our customers recognize that they can achieve a high-level of service and quality regardless of their business region or printing application.”

ISO is the world’s largest developer of voluntary international standards. ISO 9001:2008 establishes the criteria for a quality management system and is implemented by more than one million companies and organizations in more than 170 countries.
