Employees at the Wager Road facility of Eriez Manufacturing Co. (Erie, PA) have worked more than 1,000 days without a lost time accident. Since opening in February 2012, there has not been a single lost time accident at this plant.
“It takes a high level of safety awareness to achieve such a goal,” said Tina Swanson, the human resources manager of safety and risk management. “We integrate safety into every aspect of our day-to-day operations and work to keep employees engaged with ongoing safety updates and continually stress the importance of personal accountability.”
To celebrate this outstanding safety milestone, the company recently held a party for first and second shift employees at the facility. The company’s headquarters’ plant current record for days worked without a lost time accident is 1,309. “The Wager Road employees are dedicated to trying to surpass this record,” added Swanson.
