Weiler Corporation (Cresco, PA), a leading provider of power brushes, abrasives, and maintenance products for surface conditioning, has updated the packaging for its top 100 products to better integrate into coil or helix vending machines. It is one of the first manufacturers in the metalworking/MROP space to do so.
Products with vending-ready packaging include knot wheels, crimp cups, knot cups, end brushes, tube brushes, flap discs and flap wheels, and acid brushes. Many of these products currently come in multi packs, and are being repackaged individually to easily and quickly fit into vending machines for quick withdrawal on the facility floor.
The company will also provide the data needed to load items into the vending machines. The original packaging is still available as an option for all products. “We identified the vending trend as one that will significantly impact our customers, and it provides benefits to all members of the supply chain,” said Chris Weiler, the president and chief executive officer of the company. “Our primary focus is to provide innovative, high quality products that exceed users’ expectations for performance. But we also want to provide those products to customers and end users in a convenient way that helps them save time and money.”
Vending in a manufacturing facility is an inventory control that offers many benefits to the end user. It allows a shop to monitor the use of individual MRO items for inventory planning purposes, cuts costs by setting limits for the use of certain materials for specific jobs, and saves time by simplifying the material selection process and keeping all MRO items in one convenient location on the facility floor.
