U.S. Ambassador to China Max Baucus visited the Shanghai office of Jet Edge, Inc. (St. Michael, MN) on December 1 during a tour of the AMT Shanghai Technology and Service Center. During his visit, Baucus was treated to a live waterjet cutting demonstration in the company’s demonstration lab, which presented the ambassador with a waterjet cut state seal of his home state of Montana.
The company opened its China sales, service in showroom in 2011 to meet the growing demand for American-made water jet cutting technology in China.
“We were very honored that Ambassador Baucus visited our China office and took time to watch a demonstration of our technology,” said Haihong Song (Samuel), the Jet Edge China area sales manager. “China is the world’s largest importer of machine tools, and American machine tool imports to China rank sixth, behind Japan, Germany, Korea, Taiwan, and Italy. There are tremendous opportunities for U.S. machine tool manufacturers in China.”
