Hobart Institute of Welding Technology (HIWT; Troy, OH) has added a technical training instructor to their staff. Ryan Freeze will be teaching various continuing education courses within the technical department.
Freeze says, “My interest in welding began shortly after high school while working for an equipment sales facility in Springfield, OH, installing grain storage and conveying equipment. I learned about Hobart Institute’s programs through a close friend and in a pursuit to improve my skills and advance my career, I decided to enroll full time.”
“The knowledge and skills I gained through HIWT’s training opened many doors,” he continued. “I began working as an estimator and ironworker for a bridge repair contractor in Plain City, OH. Later, I returned to Hobart for training in magnetic particle and liquid penetrant Inspection and again for the preparation for the American Welding Society certified welding inspector course to aid in passing the certified welding inspector exams.”
“Over 13 years, in my previous positions I grew into a project management role and I became vice president of operations where my responsibilities included quality control and business management,” he stated. “Most recently I had the opportunity to work for a structural steel manufacturer and contractor in Marysville, OH, as a project manager and estimator on large structural steel building projects.”
“Ryan brings a strong background to our technical training team and we are pleased that he chose to join our staff,” said Elmer Swank, the HIWT technical instructor. Freeze resides in the Springfield area.
