The Lincoln Electric Company (Cleveland, OH) introduces two models in its industrial Vantage® engine-driven welder series. The Vantage 600 SD and Air Vantage 600 SD are each equipped with a Tier 4 Final (T4F) compliant Deutz® turbo-charged diesel engine that meets all new EPA diesel fuel emission standards.
Designed for heavy industrial applications such as mining, general construction and pipe welding, both engine-driven welders are engineered to handle a variety of processes:
- Stick welding
- TIG welding
- MIG welding
- Flux-cored wire welding
- Arc gouging
The Vantage and Air Vantage series have been re-engineered using a new digital platform. Waveform Control Technology® delivers smoother arc characteristics, faster arc response and improved pipe welding capabilities, including reduced spatter. New pulsing capabilities provide improved arc control for out-of-position work and can be used to reduce heat input, resulting in less distortion of the base material.
ArcLink® digital communication enables fast, reliable digital communications with such components as the Power Feed® 25M semiautomatic wire feeder. With access to advanced wire feeders such as the Power Feed 25M, welding teams can take advantage of user memory presets for common repeated application welding procedures, as well as operator limits and lockouts. Both features help to eliminate operator error on critical welds.
The Vantage 600 SD and Air Vantage 600 SD models feature a Deutz turbo-charged, 64 hp TD2.9L4 engine. These Vantages produce 600 amps/40 volts at 60 percent duty cycle and 575 amps/43 volts at 100 percent duty cycle. In addition, each is capable of delivering to 12,000 watts single phase or 20,000 watts three-phase, 120/240 volt AC generator power.
The Air Vantage 600 SD also includes a premium VMAC® belt-drive rotary screw compressor capable of producing 150 psi system pressure with on/off capabilities and separate gauges for monitoring compressor hours and pressure.
