The L. S. Starrett Company (Athol, MA) is pleased to announce the certification of its MeatKutter band saw line by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The actual certification, NSF/ANSI/3-A, signifies that these saw blades meet the hygiene requirements for the design of meat and poultry processing equipment and also for hand held tools used in meat and poultry processing.

The approved product line includes MeatKutter Premium (MKP), MeatKutter Frozen (MKF), MeatKutter Stainless (MKS), Band Knife (BK), Band Knife Stainless (BKS), and Carcass Kutter (CK) saw blades. The USDA certification will enhance the company’s position in its global offering of food processing blades.

The company is the largest manufacturer of food processing blades, which are constructed of the best quality specialty steels, polished and hardened to resist corrosion and contamination. These blades are the ideal choice for any food processing plant.

L.S. Starrett manufactures precision tools, gages and instruments, saws and hand tools.
