Press Brake Safety (Punta Gorda, FL), the exclusive North American installer of Fiessler Elektronik AKAS® laser safety systems, has announced the formation of a full service division. Press Brake Safety Service will provide complete maintenance, service and training to customers that are using the most sophisticated press brake safety systems in the world.
PBS president and chief executive officer Doug Boyer has named Bruce Meyer as the president and chief executive officer of PBS Service. Meyer said the new company will provide capabilities that will shorten service repair time and decrease customer costs.
“We constantly emphasize safety. Our first question to a potential customer is always, what’s the value of a brake operator’s finger or hand?” Meyer said. “With PBS Service, we’ll be able to focus more on value-added products and repair services that promote and help ensure safety.”
A focus on safety is critical at a time when the industry is trying to balance profitability, operator safety and regulators’ capabilities to effectively audit operators’ practices, Meyer said.
Fiessler Elektronik has provided more than 20,000 AKAS safety systems to both OEMs and press brake users. Some of the leading manufacturers of press brakes on the market use Fiessler AKAS Optical Safety Guards as standard.
