COE Press Equipment Corporation (Sterling Heights, MI) announced that it has shipped a new coil feeding line to Hudson Industries (Hudson, IN), a manufacturer of metal stampings for the automotive industry.
Commissioned to feed a new Eagle 400T progressive die press, the new coil handling and feeding line has a maximum coil width capacity of 36 in, coil weight capability up to 30,000 lb, and can process high strength steel at 55,000 psi yield strength with a thickness of 0.020 in, up to 0.187 in, depending upon material width.
The line features a CPRF-536 roll feed with #3 matte chrome rolls and a ServoMaster Controller that provides automatic passline height adjustment and roll pressure control through the Job Recipe Manager, helping to reduce set up time. It is housed in a heavy-duty cabinet base with a ±5 in height adjustment.
The line’s CPPS-406-36 power straightener has a 30 hp AC variable speed drive and digital control, digital upper straightener roll height indicators, #3 matte chrome pinch rolls and a Trabon automatic lubrication system. The straightener includes the company’s unique “Alligator” peeler de-kinker station that enables hands-free threading of the steel coil.
The accompanying CPR-300-36 coil reel has a hydraulic traveling coil car for effective coil staging and loading. Other features include fail-safe drag brake to prevent coil over-run, automatic drag brake compensation, and coil hold-down arm with motorized endwheel.
COE Press Equipment designs and manufactures a complete line of premiere coil handling and servo roll feed equipment from stand-alone roll feeds, straighteners, reels, cradles and air feeds to complete integrated feed line systems including the heaviest and widest coil feeding systems available for the metalstamping industry today.
The company supplies and services a wide variety of global markets and industries including automotive, appliance, lighting, metal processing, housewares, lawn and garden, contract stampers, tool and die builders, and many others.
