The L.S. Starrett Company (Athol, MA) announces the introduction of two new products to its Advanz Carbide Tip line of band saw blades:

The MC 5 (Multi Chip 5) is a varying tooth height model with a progressive grind geometry. This results in designed chip load per tooth lending itself to longer life and smoother surface finish. The MC5 is well suited for general cutting with a particular emphasis on aluminum castings, brass, bronze and low alloy steels.

The MC 7 (Multi Chip 7) utilizes a progressive grind sequence that generates seven distinct chips. This especially effective when cutting nickel alloys , titanium and tool steels.

Both of these products feature positive rake angles and rugged submicron carbide tooth tips (HV 1600!).

Founded and headquartered in 1880 in Athol, Starrett manufactures precision tools, gages and instruments, saws and hand tools. While best known for precision tools in the United States, the company is also a major, worldwide manufacturer of saw blade products.

Starrett products are sold throughout the United States and worldwide through distributors, dealers, and retailers and online. In recent years, the Company has broadened its product offering through acquisitions and innovative product line expansion.
