Greater Flexibility With Exchangeable Head Coupling
This exchangeable head coupling from Sandvik Coromant uses a self-centering screw thread for secure mounting and maximum strength and security for long reach extensions used to mill 0.394 in to 1.26 in diameters and bore 0.394 in to 1.42 in diameters.

Demonstration of milling with Sandvik Coromant exchangeable-head milling system that has none of the problems inherent in existing exchangeable-head tools. In recognizing that the ultimate performance depends directly on the quality of the coupling, the design of this system guarantees a reliability and accuracy in the coupling between the carbide head and the tool shank to provide best-in-class machining. The conical portion is shaped to provide best run-out. Pre-loaded taper and flange contacts provide an optimized modular connection with extreme rigidity and strength.
The exchangeable head coupling is based on a self-centering screw thread for secure mounting and maximum strength and security. The coupling has a physical stop which makes it easy to feel when the head is correctly tightened and helps to not overstress the clamping.
