TUV Rheinland North America, Inc. (Boxborough, MA) is growing its global sustainability practice with addition of Raj Sapru. Sapru joins TÜV Rheinland’s San Francisco, CA office, bringing more than a decade of experience working with global companies on sustainability challenges. In his new role as associate director of Sustainability Advisory Services, Sapru will help lead the company into a new chapter of professional services, focusing on Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), manufacturing and healthcare sectors.

Prior to joining TÜV Rheinland, Sapru served as director of advisory services at Business for Social Responsibility in San Francisco. He was responsible for the global manufacturing and infrastructure sectors, led project teams, and worked with a variety of global companies to understand key sustainability issues, mobilize internal management teams, and integrate critical insights to address risks and support business strategies.

“Raj’s addition to the team will allow us to add further value to our clients,” said Gerhard Luebken. “Our customers need us to broaden our involvement, and the dedicated Sustainability Advisory Services group can now provide integrated sustainability service offerings. Sustainability and corporate responsibility is top of mind for business leaders, and we are motivated by the challenge of understanding stakeholder expectations, deciphering the sustainability landscape, and ultimately using sustainability to add value to their businesses.”

“Social and environmental mega-trends and sustainability challenges are numerous and often well-understood, and companies want to ensure that critical risks, opportunities, and stakeholder expectations posed by these trends are addressed in the most efficient and credible way,” said Sapru. “There has been a lot of ‘thinking’ about sustainability over the past decade but still a critical shortage of ‘doing.’ I’m excited about this new frontier as TÜV Rheinland is poised to help companies navigate through the new realities of global business.”
