ExOne Breaks Ground on Construction of New European Headquarters and Production Facility
Local government officials join ExOne to kick-off $20 million expansion project for industrial 3D printing operations.

The ExOne Company (NASDAQ: XONE) (North Huntingdon, PA), a global provider of three-dimensional printing machines and printed products to industrial customers, held a ground breaking ceremony for the construction of its new $20 million facility in Gersthofen, Germany, in the district of Augsburg. The company was joined at the facility site by Max Strehle, deputy district administrator in the district of Augsburg, and Jürgen Schantin, the mayor of Gersthofen, both of whom spoke on the company’s efforts in the district.
Rainer Hoechsmann, general manager of ExOne GmbH, kicked off the event with opening remarks about the company’s continued commitment to both Augsburg and Gersthofen, and the impact that additive manufacturing will have on advancing the technological capabilities of the region as well as globally.
“This event marked a significant step forward as we capitalize on the substantial business foundation we have created in Augsburg to access global markets,” explained Hoechsmann. “The great performance of our staff in recent years, along with the regional support from officials like Strehle and Schantin, has created excellent conditions for innovative companies like ExOne for continued investment in the global advancement of its technology.”
ExOne’s new facility is scheduled for completion in the latter half of 2014. It will be comprised of approximately 150,700 sq ft of production, warehouse, service and R&D space as well as approximately 27,600 sq ft for offices. In addition, the Company will be consolidating its five existing leased facilities in Augsburg – which currently occupy an aggregate of approximately 77,500 sq ft – into the new facility as well, providing expansion capacity to support its global growth strategy.
The construction and design of ExOne’s new facility will be completed by GOLDBECK Süd GmbH, a turnkey provider of construction services which focuses on Central Europe, Great Britain, Austria and Switzerland.
