Gibbs and Associates (Moorpark, CA), developer of GibbsCAM® software for programming CNC machine tools and a Cimatron (NASDAQ: CIMT) company, recently announced that the company will collaborate with Gardner Publications’ Modern Machine Shop to present a free webinar at 2:00 P.M. Eastern time on Wednesday, October 16, 2013.
Registration information and system requirements are on the Modern Machine Shop webinar page. The webinar will demonstrate many of the significant advantages of 5-axis machining, including both cost and time savings, with a direct impact to a shop’s bottom line.
The webinar will cover a variety of scenarios, from parts with extremely complex shapes requiring full 5-axis motion in order to machine all required areas of the part, to parts that benefit from 5-axis positioning and can be machined in a single setup with greater accuracy and in less time. Multi-Task machines (MTM) and how they can also make use of 5-axis machining in conjunction with conventional milling and turning operations will be discussed.
Topics to be covered in this webinar include:
• Overview of 5-axis machining
• Primary types of 5-axis machines
• Benefits of 5-axis machining
• Various applications for 5-axis machining
• 5-axis programming techniques
