Spectronics Corporation (Westbury, NY) has introduced the versatile and very affordable OPTI-LUX™ 365 Series UV-A (365 nm) LED flashlights, which are perfect for a wide variety of NDT inspection applications. There is a choice of four models to suit your specific needs. High-intensity and standard-intensity versions are available, each with or without an internal black light filter. The black light filter reduces the output of wavelengths longer than 400 nm.

The high-intensity versions produce a nominal steady-state UV-A intensity of 10,000 µW/cm² at 15 in (38 cm). The standard-intensity models produce a maximum UV-A intensity of 4,500 µW/cm² to address aerospace industry concerns. All OPTI-LUX 365 flashlights meet ASTM UV-A wavelength and intensity specifications for FPI and MPI. They come complete with a certificate of compliance for wavelength and output measurements.

The OPTI-LUX 365 is extremely compact and lightweight, reducing user fatigue. It provides a steady beam profile that surpasses those of more expensive lamps. The anodized aluminum lamp body minimizes corrosion and withstands heavy use in the field. Its “instant-on” operation means no warm-up time is required to reach full UV-A intensity.

The OPTI-LUX 365 flashlights come complete with a lanyard, belt holster, two rechargeable batteries, two-position smart charging cradle with AC power cord, and UV-absorbing spectacles. All components are packed in a padded carrying case. www.spectroline.com
