The HELICHECK BASIC 2 can be offered either with a length measuring capability E1 = (1.4 + L / 300) µm and a repeatability of <1 µm or with E1 = (2.0 + L / 300) µm and a repeatability of <1.5 µm as a standard.
United Grinding offers the Walter Helicheck Basic 2, a 3-axis machine with one fixed CCD backlight camera for measuring complex profiles, step lengths, diameters, and clearance angles. It works with WALTER’S Form Tool Compensation (FTC) to automatically correct errors in form tool profiles, thereby setting up even tight tolerance tools in minutes.
The technology is also ideal for measuring grinding wheels. At about half the cost of other CNC optical measuring machines, it’s about the price of a comparator but much better.
This 3-axis CNC measuring machine has non-contact complete measurement of the external contour of rotationally symmetrical tools, production parts, grinding wheels and optionally also cutting edge inspection. The Helicheck Basic 2 replaces conventional technology, such as profile projectors. The optional inspection camera also replaces conventional measuring microscopes.

Feedback of the measuring results enables a reliable and consistent performance of the grinding machines. The fully automatic measurement of grinding wheel sets is also possible. All software packages are directly compatible with the other machines of the HELICHECK range.
A new easy to use operating software for manual measurement is also implemented guaranteeing quick and perfect measurement and sets new standards. The HELICHECK BASIC 2 can be offered either with a length measuring capability E1 = (1.4 + L / 300) µm and a repeatability of <1 µm or with E1 = (2.0 + L / 300) µm and a repeatability of <1.5 µm as a standard. With this performance data the machine provides an optimum price/performance ratio and offers unique precision in this price segment.
