New equipment will increase production and reduce maintenance costs.
ATW Companies (Warwick, RI), a leading provider of engineered metal manufacturing solutions, announces that its Metalform product line has expanded its manufacturing capabilities, adding resistance welding, spot welding, and robotic plasma welding equipment, which will increase quality and improve manufacturing operations.
The new welding equipment is expected to increase production by at least 10 percent. Metalform’s capabilities include deep-drawing, stamping, and pistol magazine fabrication.
The line’s top products include 38 caliber, 45 caliber, and 9 mm magazines, supplied to many top firearms industry companies. With the addition of new resistance welders,
Metalform can improve strength and quality of its welded base magazines.
The new spot welder will handle its followers, and the state-of-the-art robotic plasma welding cell will improve magazine seam welding capabilities. Metalform expects the increased production and decreased maintenance requirements will free up engineering time, which it will use for new product development, including additions to its magazine portfolio.
