The MMS and MMD Material Testing Systems are also compatible with a wide selection of extensometers that are ideal for applications where the sample’s mechanical properties make machine encoder measurement insufficient. These clip-on extensometers measure sample elongation and monitor strain over a precisely defined gauge length.
The MMS and MMD Series Testing Systems are compatible with miniature and long-travel axial extensometers, transverse extensometers and bi-axial extensometers. Extensometers provide precision strain measurement for accurate, precise and repeatable results.
Complementing the MMS and MMD Series are four types of load cell sensors, each with a measurement accuracy of better than 0.05 percent full scale and supplied with a calibration certificate traceable to NIST. Starrett offers sensors that are environmentally sealed; a “premium” style with a safe overload of 1000% of the rated capacity; and an “economy” style ideal for most general purpose applications.
Sensors can also be calibrated on-site by authorized Starrett service professionals in accordance to ASTM E4 and ISO 7500-1 procedures.
Starrett also supplies a full range of testing fixtures including platens, vise-action and wedge-action test fixtures, roller and scissor-style test fixtures, and pneumatically-actuated models for hands-free operation. MMD and MMS Material Testing Systems are the better solution to improving your testing and analysis capabilities, providing consistent, accurate results for years to come.
