The acquisition of this exclusive distributor of Okuma, Hardinge, Chiron, Hydromat and other manufacturing technology lines strategically expands Morris Group sales and service areas to include Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and about one-third of Wisconsin.
Morris Group, Inc.(Windsor, CT) announced that it has purchased Hegman Machine Tool (Maple Grove, MN), an exclusive distributor of Okuma, Hardinge, Chiron, Hydromat and other manufacturing technology lines. The new entity, “Hegman Machinery, a Division of Morris Group, Inc.” has expanded the Morris Group’s U.S. sales and service areas to now include the states of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and about one-third of Wisconsin.
“The fit is ideal for both companies and our customers,” said Brad Morris, the president of Morris Group. “Ralph Hegman founded his company 31 years ago and has led it with many of the same guiding principles that we have in our 72-year history: honesty, integrity, and hard work.”
Morris also indicated that the transition will be relatively seamless for customers of Hegman Machine. “They should expect the same high level of service,” he said. “Our intention is that the employees currently servicing Hegman customers will continue to do so under Morris ownership.”
To further ensure a seamless transition, Mr. Hegman will remain as a key advisor handling capital accounts. Morris executive Jerry Rex assumed the role of Hegman Machinery’s president effective January 1, 2013. “Jerry brings extensive experience leading Morris distribution organizations and provides customer-focused leadership to the Hegman team.”
