Lincoln Electric Acquires Tennessee Rand

This acquisition brings extensive tool design, system building, and machining capabilities that will strategically expand Lincoln’s welding automation business.

Lincoln Electric Holdings, Inc. (Cleveland, OH) announced today that it has acquired the privately-held automated systems and tooling manufacturer, Tennessee Rand, Inc. (Chattanooga, TN).

Tennessee Rand is a leader in the design and manufacture of tooling and robotic systems for welding applications. The company serves a wide base of automotive and metal fabrication customers.

Mapes, the chief executive officer of Lincoln Electric. “They bring extensive tool design, system building, and machining capabilities that will enable us to further expand our welding automation business. This is a nice complement to our recent acquisition of Wayne Trail Technologies.”

Tennessee Rand has annual sales of approximately $35 million. Terms were not disclosed.
