Mazak Corporation (Florence, KY) recently hired Eric Dean as an account manager for its Western Regional Headquarters and Technology Center (Gardena, CA), which serves as the companyʼs center of expertise for the aerospace sector.

This facility provides customers with training and technology seminars, service and applications support, and offers opportunities to collaborate with the company and its VIP cutting tool, workholding and automation partners to develop the best possible complete manufacturing solutions for overcoming production challenges within the aerospace sector, as well as within other key regional industries.

A manufacturing engineer with strong management skills and highly regarded certifications, Dean has all the necessary talent to assist Mazak customers, particularly in the San Diego area, in improving their manufacturing cycle efficiencies, production
costs and much more.

Through a wide range of advanced equipment and technologies incorporated within the companyʼs unique 3-4-5 “The Next Level of Productivity” manufacturing solution, Dean will show customers how to effectively identify the right level of technology needed for improving their specific aerospace operations and advancing productivity to the next level.

The 3-4-5 solution is the industryʼs most comprehensive grouping of manufacturing resources and one that encompasses the 3 Levels of Control, 4 Levels of Automation and 5 Levels of Multi-Tasking.

Prior to joining Mazak, Dean worked at Solar Turbines, Inc. (San Diego, CA) for eight years, starting out as a manufacturing engineer and rising through the ranks of the company to become a value stream manager. “Eric has extensive experience in manufacturing and Multi-Tasking machines,” said Richard McCauley, the general manager for the Western Regional Headquarters. “He also has extensive experience in the justification and system implementation of large machine systems. He will be an excellent resource for our customers who are always looking for manufacturing solutions and insights on the best and most current machining
innovations and technologies.”

Dean has a Bachelor of Science degree in manufacturing engineering from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, Calif. Furthermore, he is a Six Sigma Black Belt, meaning he is a certified professional who can explain Six Sigma philosophies and principles, including supporting systems and tools. He is also a Certified Manufacturing Engineer and serves as a committee member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) Oversight and Appeals Subcommittee. Additionally, he is a member of the Turbo Machinery Operations Inclusion Council.
