In a move from the rapid prototyping market sector into the small to mid-size machining markets, the fully integrated CAM software running inside the Alibre design family of CAD products is now sold and supported directly by MecSoft.
MecSoft Corporation (Irvine, CA) recently announced that Alibre CAM, a fully integrated CAM product running inside the Alibre Design family of CAD products, will now be sold and supported directly by MecSoft. Prior to this announcement, Alibre CAM was sold and supported by 3D Systems Corporation (Rock Hill, SC), while MecSoft developed and licensed the software.
“The relationship between MecSoft and 3D Systems remains strong, and we both feel strongly that the Alibre CAM line of products has been very successful and can continue to grow and gain additional market share,” stated Max Freeman, the general manager of Alibre.
MecSoft also released the newest version of the software, Alibre CAM 3, that runs completely inside Alibre Design 2012 CAD software and is packed with hundreds of enhancements and improvements to the product.
“Alibre CAM 3 is the first release of Alibre CAM since the product has transitioned from 3D Systems, so we’re extremely excited to offer it to customers for the first time from us,” stated Anita Anand, the vice president of sales at MecSoft. “We believe that our users will be very gratified with not only the various product improvements and also to the overall infrastructure that we have put in place to support this product. We look forward to a rapid adoption of this upgrade in the customer base.”
Information on Alibre CAM 3, including a full features list, and a free demo is available on the Alibre CAM website, www.alibrecam.com.
While both MecSoft and 3D Systems have a well established reputation for great customer support, the transition of the product to MecSoft will be to the greatest benefit of Alibre CAM customers. “By having a direct interface with us, customers will have a dynamic and powerful experience with regard to effecting changes in the product, receiving support, and having a community of people to ask questions and draw experience from,” explained Joe Anand, the chief executive officer of MecSoft. “Alibre CAM customers can rest assured that we are committed to continued development and the support of their investment in the product is protected.”
