CNC machine tool manufacturer Okuma America Corporation (Charlotte, NC) is hosting a series of open house events at various locations throughout the fall to showcase new and existing CNC machine tool and control technology. “We are committed to helping manufacturers go beyond what they believe is currently possible by introducing them to existing technology that helps them improve their operations. Allowing them to see the equipment in-person and interact with our engineers and our partners enables them to test the waters of possibility,” states Jim King, the company president and chief operating officer, “and eventually make it reality.”

  • Chicago – October 24-25, Jobtoberfest – was hosted in conjunction with Morris Midwest (Roselle, IL) at the Okuma Tech Center and focused on helping small and large job shops get the most out of their machine tool investments. Attendees brought their challenging parts and machining problems to the event so that Okuma and Morris application engineers, teamed with Partners in THINC members, could help them solve their manufacturing problems.
  • Sao Paulo, Brazil – November 12-13, Grand Opening – will be hosted by Okuma Latino Americana, whose new office and showroom opened in August and where a grand opening event will be held November 12-13. The new facility features offices, conference rooms, a training area, spare parts storage area and showroom. For more information, contact Cristina Zanarelli at [email protected].
  • Houston – November 15, Go Beyond Productivity to Profitability – will be hosted in conjunction with Hartwig Houston at the Okuma Tech Center and will concentrate on helping companies identify current technology that will increase their ability to be profitable. Partners in THINC member companies will display peripheral equipment that can improve the productivity of Okuma machine tools, and the new P300 THINC control will be available for hands-on Try It demonstrations of Advanced One-Touch IGF, Collision Avoidance System and more. A variety of Okuma machines will be performing cutting demonstrations. To register, visit www.okuma.com/events/P2P121115.
  • Charlotte – December 5-7, Open House – will be hosted in conjunction with Morris South, at Okuma America’s headquarters and Partners in THINC and will feature 10+ machines, including the MCR-BIII double-column machining center, the new MU-10000H 5-axis horizontal machining center and other new machines that were shown at IMTS. A wide variety of equipment, including small and large horizontal lathes, 5-axis machines, multi-function machines and vertical and horizontal machining centers will be tooled up and running. Featured applications and peripherals will include turn-cut, Machining Navi, a flexible manufacturing system and more.

Members of Partners in THINC will be on hand at all of these events, representing tooling, gauging, software and other machine tool accessory equipment. All events are free to manufacturers. www.okuma.com/events.
