The additional expertise in aluminum extrusions and secondary machining and finishing operations will help manufacturing customers bring products to life more successfully.
Alexandria Industries (Alexandria, MN) announced that Tom Jensen has joined the company as director of business development. His expertise, combined with Alexandria Industries’ customer-focused, vertically integrated solutions will help manufacturers in the central U.S. corridor extending from Mexico to Canada more successfully bring their products to life.
Jensen has extensive experience in aluminum extrusions, secondary machining and finishing operations, as well as in sales and business management. He previously directed his own renewable-energy company where his team created and globally marketed an extruded aluminum- and steel-based racking solution. Jensen is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and will locate out of Denver.
Prior to his renewable-energy venture, he worked with Alexandria Industries as a manufacturing representative in the Western U.S. region and as a market sales leader for the company’s durable medical equipment business. In addition to those roles, he was an original member of the company’s multifunctional Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM) and Quick Response Office Cell (QROC) teams. That hands-on QRM experience gives him valuable perspectives on how customers can partner with component suppliers to minimize lead times, lower costs and improve final product quality.
“’People making a difference’ is at the core of our values and critical to our success,” said Tom Schabel, the chief executive office of Alexandria Industries. “Jensen’s deep industry experience is complemented by his integrity, leadership, and customer-focused passion. Adding him to our team illustrates our strategic commitment to helping customers – both current and future – succeed.”
