This milling control offers optional turning with an optimized user interface that gives greater transparency during programming to present functions better and displays status information more clearly.

In Booth E-5224 at IMTS 2012, Heidenhain Corporation (Schaumburg, IL) introduces the TNC 640 control, its first milling control offered with optional turning, enabling it to perform multi-operation machining. Just as with all other TNC controls, the user only needs to enter all the programming steps for turning operation in plain language, just as he does for milling.

Also new with the TNC 640 is the optimized user interface, which gives greater transparency during programming to present functions better and displays status information more clearly. The TNC 640 also introduces a new stainless steel control design and a specially prepared keyboard surface and screen frame to eliminate fingerprints. www.heidenhain.us
