In Booth N-7263 at IMTS 2012, Brush Research Manufacturing (BRM; Los Angeles, CA) presents the newest innovation in the continuing evolution of Flex-Hone technology: Diamond Flex-Hones, new tools that are designed primarily for deburring, edge blending and surface finishing in hard materials like carbide, ceramic and aerospace steel alloys. We have engineered these tools using resin bond diamond crystals that have high friability. A crystal that has high friability creates self-sharpening edges. This results in a tool that is free cutting and will provide a quick cut-rate and optimal finish.
All of our diamond tools are made with premium nickel-coated abrasive which helps with heat dissipation and improves the bond retention. Sizes from 4 mm to 20 mm are standard in three different mesh sizes. Other sizes and mesh selections are available on special order. Applications include carbide wear parts, guide and drill bushings, ceramic cylinders, heat treated steel, high nickel stainless steel, MMX aluminum alloys, chromed and plated bores, aerospace components, medical parts and EDM recast layer.
BRM is also announces a full range of truly unique finishing and deburring tools. These high-performance tools create reliable, consistent and cost effective results. Nampower™ Disc Brushes are easily integrated into today’s automated machinery, CNC machining centers, transfer lines and robotic cells. Our new abrasive disc brushes contain a unique combination of ceramic and silicon carbide filament that produce maximum burr removal rates while providing an ideal surface finish at the same time. The discs are manufactured using a fiber reinforced thermoplastic base that results in less vibration and greater process repeatability.
Our professional grade tool holder provides the added advantage of lubrication from the inside of the brush that greatly improves tool life and cutting action. The brushes are available in two different styles: Dot Style for general purpose deburring and surface finish applications and the Turbine Style brush for medium and heavy deburring applications. The brushes are available in two different trim lengths for the right combination of flexibility and aggressiveness and 3 different diameters to cover a broad range of finishing applications. www.brushresearch.com
