The company hires a new sales manager to strategically grow its long-term footprint in key markets for stamping, pistol magazines, tubing and waveguide.

ATW Companies Inc. (Warwick, RI), a leading provider of custom manufactured metal components and services, recently appointed Matthew Underhay as the sales manager for A.T. Wall, its precision stamping and tube drawing subsidiary. Underhay, a successful industry veteran, is responsible for supporting the development of A.T. Wall sales and marketing processes by leveraging his technical background and market knowledge.

He will be leading a team of account executives and sales representatives, and working with his colleagues in the company’s other subsidiaries to implement an exciting growth plan. Underhay will focus on growing the company’s footprint in key markets for stamping, pistol magazines, tubing and waveguide, as well as supporting the long-term strategic business plan.

Underhay has demonstrated significant technical and business insight in his 15 years of experience in both engineering and sales. He holds a Bachelor of Technology degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and completed an electrical engineering technologist program at the RCC School of Electronics Technology (Ontario, Canada).

Most recently, he served as the sales and marketing manager at a Connecticut-based manufacturer of flexible and rigid waveguide assemblies and passive microwave components, where he was responsible for leading a global sales team, increasing revenue, and leading the company’s marketing efforts. He previously served as a hardware development engineer in the radio frequency systems division of a publicly traded leader in mobile, fixed, IP and Optics technologies. There he led the product team in the design, development, and production of high volume RF conditioning equipment.

Underhay’s earlier experience includes working as an RF filter design technologist, a microwave design technologist, and a manufacturing test and tune technologist. “Matthew’s experience on both the engineering and sales side of the microwave and electronics industry will be a great asset to our team” said Tracy MacNeal, the corporate director of business development at ATW. “We’re excited to bring him on board and to grow our core markets.”
