This supplement to an existing source extraction system is ideal for small shops that have overhead cranes, large amounts of infrastructure, or other obstructions for ductwork and offers an economical alternative to a push-pull system.

Lincoln Electric Automation (Cleveland, OH) introduces the Circulator™, a free-standing general filtration system for weld fume control that is ideal for manufacturing and fabrication facilities with obstructions for ductwork – overhead cranes and large amounts of infrastructure. It offers an economical alternative to a push-pull system. The Circulator is intended to be used to supplement an existing source extraction system.

The Circulator System is custom designed to improve indoor air quality in smaller shops or work areas. The system handles this task by continuously moving cleaner, filtered air into the facility preventing the formation of a welding fume layer in the ceiling and/or rafters. The filtration is provided by a Statiflex® 6000-MS self-cleaning central filter unit with a filter surface area of 150 cu m (1614 sq ft).

Click here to watch an animated operation of the Circulator. The operation of welding fume control equipment is affected by various factors including proper use and positioning of the equipment, maintenance of the equipment and the specific welding procedure and application involved. Worker exposure level should be checked upon installation and periodically thereafter to be certain it is within applicable OSHA PEL and ACGIH TLV limits.

The Circulator System is a smart solution for welding safety, workplace cleanliness and an overall positive manufacturing work environment. It creates a cleaner work environment by reducing the amount of dust and dirt in the operator and surrounding work areas and also supplements the natural (draft) and/or forced ventilation (roof/wall fans) that may be present to reduce the overall concentration of welding fumes in the workshop.

The Circulator features the innovative Green-Drive™ Control System. Integrated controls continually monitor system operations with a state-of-the-art pressure sensor and automatically adjust airflow to maintain required performance levels. This results in energy savings of up to 50 percent and increased filter life of up to 30 percent over traditional on/off systems.

The Circulator is an engineered solution. The Lincoln Electric Weld Fume Control team will provide a detailed system configuration based on an evaluation of your operations layout and manufacturing processes. For more information on the Circulator System, request brochure MC11-37 by visiting the Lincoln website or by calling 888-355-3213.

The Lincoln Electric Company is a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of arc welding products, robotic arc welding systems, welding fume control systems, plasma and oxyfuel cutting equipment and has a leading global position in the brazing and soldering alloys market.
