The new 50,000 sq ft plant has 50 ton in-house lifting capabilities to support heavy custom fabricating, CNC punching and forming of parts for power generation, pollution control, waste water treatment, aerospace; defense, stay cable and other unique bridge construction, chemical processing, and other metal producing facilities.

AMECO USA Metal Fabricating Solutions LLC. (Cleveland, OH), a metal fabricator of engineered products, opened a new 50,000 sq ft state-of-the-art manufacturing facility earlier this year at 4600 West 160th Street in Cleveland.

The new facility increases the company’s total manufacturing space to 62,000 sq ft, which includes a 12,000 sq ft plant operated in Elyria, OH by sister company ArcAlloy Metal Fabrication Solutions.  This expansion enables AMECO to provide an enhanced and broader range of services, including heavy custom fabricating, CNC punching, and forming.  The metal fabricator also offers engineering, and design services, as well as sales and product support.

Currently the company employs a total of 20 people at both facilities, including 11 employees for newly created positions at the new Cleveland plant.  There are also plans to hire additional employees to support the growing operation. “This new facility enables us to offer our customers integrated problem solving through an expanded range of metalworking processes and welding technologies,” said Mike Perkins, the president and chief engineer of AMECO USA.  “Our in-house engineering team uses advanced SolidWorks 3D modeling software that enables us to provide customers with tailored solutions that can add to long-term product performance, in some of the most challenging industrial applications.”

The company manufactures metal components that are frequently used in industries, such as power generation; pollution control; waste water treatment; aerospace; defense; stay cable and other unique bridge construction; chemical processing; and metal producing facilities. It also manufactures a line of nickel alloy fabricated products, typically used in heat-treating operations. Recently it has consulted with a North American wind turbine company who has developed a unique, new power transfer drive system.

Their spacious new Cleveland plant has 50 ton in-house lifting capacity, with over 30 ft under-the-hook, and oversized factory doors, enabling the company to fabricate and ship extra large components. The facility is conveniently located near two major interstates and in close proximity to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and the Port of Cleveland, simplifying the shipment of products throughout North America, and around the world.

AMECO USA has extensive experience in fabricating products made from light gauge metals to heavy plate steel, stainless, aluminum, copper, nickel alloy, forgings, castings and more exotic metals like molybdenum and titanium. Processes include thermal and sheared plate cutting, CNC punching, plate rolling, hot and cold press forming, and machining, among others.  The company offers most types of welding services, utilizing manual and robotic technologies. Their expert welders and operators hold a variety of industry certifications, issued by the American Welding Society (AWS; Miami, FL), and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME; NY,NY).

The metal fabricator also offers engineering and design services for unique applications such as stay cable bridge suspension systems.  They recently completed a unique project, involving large, complex cable anchor fabrications and hundreds of stainless steel cable support components for the new Harbor Drive Pedestrian Bridge, located in San Diego, California.  In 2004, a similar, but larger scale project was completed for the I-280 Maumee River Bridge, located in Toledo, Ohio.
