Seco Tools (Troy, MI) has launched a new website dedicated to supporting aerospace manufacturers. The site hosts a wealth of information pertinent to machining of parts for this dynamic and growing market.

Seco Tools’ aerospace site features an extensive variety of video and written content covering current trends, process innovations, new tooling information and case studies from successful aerospace manufacturers. An intuitive layout makes it easy to find specific information of interest via menu options and an interactive airplane model that allows users to click on areas of the model to learn more about topics related to relevant components.

“Aerospace manufacturers face an entirely unique set of challenges, in that the rapid evolution of materials dictates constant re-evaluation of machining process,” says Don Graham, Manager – Turning Products & Education Services of Seco Tools. “Seco Tools’ new site provides manufacturers a convenient, easy-to-use resource to track the industry’s latest developments and understand how their operations may be impacted.”

The site also provides technical data on over 30 materials commonly used for today’s aerospace components, including composites, heat resistant super alloys, titanium alloys and powder metals. For each material, the site presents information on its general properties, typical application areas and overall machining characteristics.
