Seco Tools (Troy, MI) solid carbide high-performance micro drills are designed for small part production in the automotive, medical and engineering industries. The SD22 is a pilot hole drill that can achieve depths of up to 2xD. The SD26 drill, designed for either two-step or direct drilling, can reach depths of up to 6x its diameter.
Both styles come in diameters of 0.1 – 2.0 mm. As compared to HSS drills, the new Seco micro drills offer increased productivity and hole quality in addition to longer tool life and lower cost per component.
Both drills are uncoated and feature a 130 deg point. Drill diameter tolerance of the SD22 is +0.005 mm and the SD26 is +0.004 mm. Both drills are suited for hole making in high strength steels and super alloys, such as titanium.
