The DMF 260/11 linear traveling column milling center from DMG/Mori Seiki (Chicago, IL) provides maximum flexibility in machining long workpieces by using multiple clamping, production with separation wall for working area, 5-axis machining and turn-mill technology.
The DMF 260/11 features a large Y-axis travel of 43.3 in, 5-axis machining with swiveling spindle and integrated NC-table, and high rigidity and long-time accuracy through a thermosymmetric traveling column. The unit comes with an 8,000 rpm motor spindle (14,000 rpm and 18,000 rpm optional) and a powerful 10,000 rpm spindle with spindle taper 50.
An option for higher productivity includes fast rapid traverses and short chip-to-chip times by using a linear drive in the X-axis.
