The LT-2000EX-MY horizontal lathe from Okuma America Corporation (Charlotte, NC) provides precision turning in any direction. Left and right spindles, and upper and lower turrets enable complete production on a single machine. The upper and lower turrets can be combined with either spindle, providing the ideal balance of primary and secondary operations, maximizing productivity in a small footprint.
The GENOS L300-MW is an entry-level, multi-function lathe that is anything but basic. It features live tooling, C-axis and a sub-spindle for increased functionality. Built on a one-piece, cast iron base with a horizontal way system and hand-scraped headstock and tailstock mounting surfaces, this machine provides stability, rigidity and accuracy for a variety of applications. All stations on the 12-station VDI 40 turret are M-tool capable for increased functionality and flexibility.
Okuma’s Constant Care remote service is now available on all THINC-equipped Okuma machines. This remote service allows the operator, with the push of a button, to connect directly to Okuma and distributor service representatives in order to troubleshoot and remotely diagnose problems or issues with the machine. This service can reduce the time and cost required to address service problems, thus decreasing downtime and improving machine performance.
Okuma’s Machining Navi software improves cutting times and performance by searching for the optimum cutting conditions by measuring chatter vibration. Machining Navi M-i (Intelligence) automatically adjusts tool rotation speed and Machining Navi M-g (Guidance) advises the operator on the optimum spindle speed for cutting. This provides the right balance between fast cutting and chatter reduction, improving cutting efficiency.
To help improve machine performance, Okuma’s Coolant Monitor System uses the THINC control to monitor coolant pH and concentration. Designed in conjunction with Shell Lubricants, this system alerts manufacturers when their coolant concentrations have fallen or risen beyond ideal parameters. Proper coolant maintenance is important to obtaining peak performance from a machine tool. This easy-to-use system takes the guesswork out of coolant monitoring.
