CGI Automated Manufacturing, Inc. (Romeoville, IL) has received ISO 9001:2008 certification for its sheet metal automated manufacturing processes and quality control through Perry Johnson Registrars, Inc.
From its new facility in Romeoville, CGI provides cutting edge sheet metal manufacturing services, including an 8-tower, 92-shelf integrated material handling storage system and dual lasers controlled by the Mitsubishi River Navigation automated production system. CGI is among the first three companies to implement this technology in the United States.
In 2009, the company received the American Purchasing Society’s Excellent Supplier Award and was the only U.S. company to receive the 2009 award. CGI was nominated for the award by its long time customer, Focal Point Lighting, a Chicago-based manufacturer of light fixtures and lighting systems. “Since our founding in 1976, CGI has continually invested in new technologies that help us provide diversified services and leading edge quality for our valued customers,” says Janice Nieman, who along with her brother, Gary Gurzynski, own and manage CGI. “Our recent purchase of a 6-axis articulated portable CMM is another example of CGI’s commitment to providing the quality today’s customers require.”
CGI services include shearing, sawing, laser cutting, CNC punching, forming, rolling, robotic welding, MIG & TIG welding for sheet metal in carbon, stainless and aluminum composition. CGI also provides spot welding, fastener insertion, powder coating, plating, assembly and kitting services.
