As part of its ongoing commitment to developing innovative welding products and personal protective equipment for today's industrial workers, Kimberly-Clark Professional's (Roswell, GA) Jackson Safety brand has updated and streamlined its welding portfolio to better meet the evolving needs of metal manufacturing customers.
A centerpiece of this effort is new labeling, designed to make product selection easier with an intuitive alpha-numeric and performance-tier product identification system. Starting with the W10 series of passive welding helmets, the line extends to the W20 series of specialty welding helmets through to fixed-shade and variable auto-darkening welding helmets. At the top of the line is the W-60 series, a multi-functional auto-darkening helmet, which operates on a digital platform to provide maximum performance.
"We've made it easier for customers to choose the products that are right for their individual needs, while still providing the value for which the Jackson Safety brand is known," said Kristy Giebe, welding category manager for the Jackson Safety brand. "While continuing to embrace our deep heritage in the welding market, we are also committed to ongoing enhancements to the portfolio to maximize the value for today's welders. As choice of auto-darkening filters has proliferated, we believe it's more important than ever to provide choosers with an easy and intuitive way to select the products that best fit their needs."
Recent Jackson Safety brand welding portfolio upgrades also include:
Changes in the W30 Solera auto-darkening filter. In an effort to better meet the unique needs of its specific users, the Solera filter's shade tolerance has been improved to deliver a more consistent shade 11. A new single sensor format ensures consistent lens switching in a wide variety of Jackson Safety brand helmets.
New parts kits to extend the life of W10 and W20 series welding helmets. Each kit includes a clear polycarbonate cover plate, shade 10 filter plate, light-seal gaskets and a retainer component specific to each helmet, to accommodate long-term performance and ANSI-compliant repairs.
The addition of pre-assembled lens kit for all auto-darkening filters (W30, W40, W50 and W60 series welding helmets). The new lens kit provides welders with the correct safety plates to ensure maximum ADF protection and performance.
Four new graphic helmet designs for the W10 series passive welding helmet, making the Jackson Safety brand the only provider to offer this number of graphic styles for a Shade 10 helmet. Designed to appeal to the individual preferences of all welders, these new passive helmets are easily upgradeable to an auto-darkening unit, offering a level of versatility only available with Jackson Safety brand welding helmets.
Kimberly-Clark Professional acquired Jackson Safety, a global manufacturer and distributor of safety products, in 2009. The acquisition brings many well-known, trusted brands together to further expand the Kimberly-Clark Professional safety portfolio to include a comprehensive line of personal protective equipment and a wide range of welding and work zone safety products.
