For high-volume production applications, Haas Automation (Oxnard, CA) now offers optional chip removal systems for its new-generation 2010 VF-1 through VF-6 VMCs. The systems combine multiple side augers with either a front discharge auger or a belt-type conveyor to move chips out of the machines faster and easier than ever.
For Haas VF-1 and VF-2 machines (all models), the system uses dual side augers to transport chips to the front of the pan, and a primary chip auger to compact the chips, wring out the coolant and discharge them from the machine.
The systems for VF-3 through VF-6 machines (all models) feature four side augers to move chips forward, and a belt-type conveyor to discharge them from the machine at barrel height. For added versatility, the belt conveyor may be installed on either side of the machine.
