Artist Evan Hoffman teams with Nex Solutions for ArtPrize 2010

Artist Evan Hoffman teamed with Nex Solutions (Litchfield, MI) on his creation for ArtPrize 2010 in Grand Rapids, MI. Nex Solutions performed the high-definition plasma cutting, welding and powder coating for Evan's 3D steel creation called "Deux Vagues Etreints" ("Two Waves Embrace"). Evan's artwork was on display from September 22nd to October 10th in front of the Gerald R Ford Federal Building US Courthouse in downtown Grand Rapids. The artwork with the most votes will win $250,000. Winners are determined solely by votes from the viewing public.
Evan Hoffman is a 20-year-old artist from Grand Rapids. He grew up surrounded with creativity. His mom is an art teacher and his father is a structural Engineer owning his own business. Evan enjoys making many kinds of art but is mainly drawn to abstract large-scale sculptures. Evan pursued a degree in engineering during his first semester at Grand Rapids Community College, but would later choose art. He is currently attending Kendall College of Art and Design for Industrial Design.
