Majestic Steel USA (Cleveland, OH) is being honored as one of The Plain Dealer Top Workplaces for 2010. The Plain Dealer published its Top Workplaces list in the June 20 edition of the newspaper. In making the selections, Ohio's largest newspaper partnered with WorkplaceDynamics, a human resources consultancy that ran similar programs in 14 major markets in 2009. The process involves gathering information about the nominated companies and then having employees at each firm complete a confidential survey that covers core workplace morale, leadership, environment and career indicators.

"We are thrilled to be named as one of The Plain Dealer Top Workplaces and to be included on the list with other great companies in the region," said Melissa Duda, human resources manager at Majestic Steel. "We have a solid reputation as a great place to work and this is reflected by the longevity of our staff. Our first associate still works here and the average tenure for employees is seven years. We come to work each day wanting to create a new experience for our customers and associates.

"We believe in having a fun and collaborative place to work, while meeting the needs of our customers by operating an efficient ISO 9001:2008-certified facility. We want to be a place where people are proud to work," said Duda. "We have a strong employee benefit program that includes competitive medical, dental, prescription drug, short- and long-term disability coverage and life insurance. Our 401K program comes with a 100 percent company match. We also offer things like raffles for tickets to sporting events and plays, as well as giving associates a paid day off for their birthday."

The company is active in the Cleveland community and is a major sponsor of the Hunger Network's Walk for Hunger. Last year, the company helped raise more than $75,000 for Achievement Centers for Children. Majestic Steel works with the Cleveland Browns to refurbish football fields and the Cleveland Indians to improve local baseball diamonds, and partners with the Cleveland Cavaliers on an annual basis to award scholarships to students pursuing degrees in the manufacturing industry.
