Sandvik Coromant (Fair Lawn, NJ) presents the CoroMill 316, a "split-tool" endmill system designed for small to medium diameters ranging from 3/8 in to 1 in. Featuring a unique interface between an exchangeable cutting-tool head and shank, the high performance tool provides ideal stiffness for full-slot roughing and offers superior accuracy for precision finishing operations.
The CoroMill 316's head is designed to be easily tightened by the slight turn of a key. Users also benefit from the endmill's unique design, which enables the head to be changed in the machine, without removing the tool shank or further pre-setting of the cutting edge.
Based on CoroMill Plura geometries, CoroMill 316 is balanced by design and includes twin-blade and multi-flute cutters. The range can be combined with multiple cutting solutions, including the GC1030 grade insert.
Sandvik Coromant provided U.S. customers with $70 million in documented cost savings in 2007.
