Automated manufacturing systems company ARC Specialties, Inc. (Houston, TX) plans to host a robotics seminar along with Lincoln Electric Automation Division (Cleveland, OH). Applied Automation: Robots In Manufacturing is the second installment in a series of technical seminars held at ARC Specialties? main U.S headquarters in Houston on December 9-10, 2009.
The two companies began collaborating on automation projects last summer, which included facility visits and Fanuc robotics programming certification for senior project manager John Martin and welding engineer Jordan Smith from ARC Specialties.
Through their partnership with Fanuc Robotics America Inc. (Rochester Hill, MI), Lincoln Electric donated an ARC Mate 100iC Welding Robot equipped with an iRVision package. ?This is a great opportunity for us as we establish this relationship? said Chris Bailey, general manager of Lincoln Electric Automation Division.
The donated robot will be demonstrated by Martin at the seminar in a presentation on robotic vision capabilities. Other topics will include robotic spray applications, ?through the arc? technology, robotic pipe welding, and a new technology developed by ARC Specialties called Cut-to-Fit Technology.
