Mazak (Florence, KY) was recently awarded Supplier Quality Excellence Process Certification from Caterpillar, Inc. The occasion marked the first time that Caterpillar has bestowed a machine tool builder with the certification.

Caterpillar?s Supplier Quality Excellence Process Certification results from a comprehensive effort to support the company?s culture of ?zero-defects? across its supply base. The prestigious status also requires recipients to exhibit excellent process control, pursue continuous improvement and display strong values and ethical principles in conducting business.

ISO 9001:2000 certification is required to be considered for Caterpillar?s certification program, which examines and evaluates a company?s performance via nine distinct modules. Caterpillar retains and examines extensive documentation and measurements to quantify whether a business partner is qualified to receive the Supplier Quality Excellence Process Certification.
