Advanced Manufacturing Solutions, LLC and Somatech from Ede (Netherlands) presents the new SomaBEND 2009 version. SomaBEND delivers an offline programming system for a wide variety of press brake machines and full 3D simulation of the bending process. The process driven approach of SomaBEND 2009 and the advanced new functionality offer a fully automated offline programming system for most of the sheet metal products. The software developments of SomaBEND 2009 have been focused mainly on automation.
Batch import of 3D geometry with fully automatic NC-programming of the press brake goes beyond every imagination. The bend sequence, tool setup, and finger stop positioning are generated automatically for multiple parts simultaneously. After the collision, check the NC-program and setup sheet are saved on the network. The NC-program can be simulated on the 3D machine controller or on a PC running the advanced SomaBEND View simulation software. The simulation module has been extended with graphical support for product handling, including time calculation. SomaBEND 2009 offers extra flexibility on tool selection, tool setup, and the conversion of large radii in multiple bends. SomaBEND supports different bending processes such as air bending, die bending, and 3-point bending. Machine options like angle measurement systems and lifting aids are supported as well. SomaBEND is available to provide offline programming and simulation of a wide variety of press brake machinery. The ability to program and verify bending operations offline frees up valuable machine time, improves first-off reliability and reduces manufacturing costs. SomaBEND will bring many advantages to a sheet metal organization in the areas of speed, quality and flexibility.
